USES: White oak wood is used in barrels, flooring, furniture and cabinets.
ORIGINS: Eastern and Midwestern U.S.
BOTANICAL NAME: "Quercus alba", "Quercus spp."
COLOR DETAILS: Sapwood is creamy white, Heartwood is red.

The plain sawn (aka: flat sawn) and quartersawn white oak wood has drastically different appearances, the plain sawn has a pronounced cathedral grain, while the quartered white oak produces medullary rays that has an almost 3D effect that looks a bit like lightning strikes.

When looking for a significant quantity of 5/4 white Oak, I was told by my local supplier that it would take 6 weeks to deliver the quantity that I
needed, which was far too long. I found Wood Vendors on the Internet and called Tom to see what he could do. He went out of his way to find the
quantity I needed for an excellent price and it was delivered to a local distributor within days of being ordered. The quality of the product was
terrific, almost as good as the service I received. Needless to say, I had a great experience with these guys and wouldn't hesitate to use them

I purchased 5/4 and 8/4 Quarter sawn White Oak with specific lengths and widths. The lumber arrived on time with no surprises with plenty of clear
stock that is actually of better quality than I expected. I will definitely use Wood Vendors again and would recommend to others. Dave- San Diego,
