Sipo (Utile) Wood Characteristics
USES: Sipo wood is used in furniture, cabinetwork, boat construction and as an alternative to the more expensive genuine mahogany.
ORIGINS: Africa, mainly West, Central and Ivory Coast
BOTANICAL NAME: "Entandrophragma utile"
OTHER NAMES: Utile, Okeong, Assie, Kosi-Kosi
COLOR DETAILS: Heartwood is fairly uniform red to brown with well demarcated light brown sapwood.
